We announce with excitement the new Program Director of PAMBE Ghana, Majeed Salifu.

Majeed with PG Board Member Steve Reid who recently visited LLC.
Majeed hails from the Northeast Region of Ghana and completed his primary and secondary education in Gambaga and Nalerigu. After completing a Diploma in Basic Education and a Bachelor of Education degree at the University of Cape Coast, Majeed joined the staff of La’angum Learning Center (LLC) as a classroom teacher in 2012, where he often taught the upper elementary students. Majeed was appointed to the position of Head Teacher in 2020, a leadership position that involved the daily oversight of school operations as well as providing guidance to teachers and students. After a national search involving the school Local Advisory Council, the PAMBE Ghana Board of Directors selected Majeed to be the new Program Director of PAMBE Ghana beginning in September 2025. With his deep knowledge of school operations and curriculum, strong rapport with the teachers and staff, and passionate commitment to the students, Majeed is well poised to assume leadership of PAMBE Ghana.
The job of the PAMBE Ghana Program Director has many facets – ranging from strategic leadership to program development and implementation and encompassing oversight of LLC as well as other PAMBE Ghana initiatives. At LLC, Majeed will build team capacity through curriculum development, teacher and staff mentoring, and continued training in Montessori and learner-centered methodologies for basic education. Majeed also will work with the OKC Board of Directors to manage budgets and to mobilize financial resources to support infrastructure and educational initiatives. To foster PAMBE Ghana’s mission to promote child-centered education in northern Ghana, Majeed will partner with local community stakeholders and advocate for PAMBE Ghana educational initiatives. "I'm excited about the opportunity to collaborate with all stakeholders to elevate PAMBE Ghana to new heights," Majeed states. "I look forward to working cordially with you and achieving great things together."
Majeed will work with two other newly appointed members of the LLC leadership team. Mary Azure, the first teacher hired at LLC, is the new Head of School. Robert Issahaku, an experienced LLC teacher, is the new Assistant Head of School. This team works closely with the Program Accountant Fidelis Yirdong.

In 2017, Majeed wrote to then Board president Tom Temple about his experience teaching at LLC. “Thanks to God who brought me here to LLC, because before I deliver a lesson, I will consider the age, interest, and cognitive development of the group of pupils I am going to present the lesson to. It is here in LLC that I have learned that children can be in the same class but receive different lessons. Before I deliver a lesson, I have to plan considering the objectives of the lesson, putting the child in the center. After delivering a lesson, I observe those pupils who have not understood and plan another lesson for them. I have also learned that children need to be respected just like we adults. Being part of or contributing to shaping a child's future is what is paramount.” Majeed’s perceptive nature and understanding of child-centered learning will make him an ideal Program Director.
We wish Majeed well in his new endeavor and look forward to working with him!
