Meet Eric Gumah, Program Director of LLC

Eric Gumah

As a Montessori teacher, Eric Gumah is dedicated to inspiring a passion for learning in children of diverse cultural backgrounds. He enjoys working in communities in which cooperation and teamwork are valued, and views himself as flexible and versatile. He likes the challenge of beginning new educational projects.

Eric attended the Pusiga Teacher Training College and received a Teachers certificate A from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana. He then received training in Montessori methods at the primary and elementary levels from the Forderkreis Reutlingen in Germany and the Montessori Institute of Milwaukee in the U.S. In 2014, he received a Degree in Basic Education from the University of Education, Winneba, Ghana.

An experienced teacher and leader, Eric has taught in the public and private sector in Bawku, Ghana using both traditional and Montessori methods. He taught at the Gumyoko Primary School and later served as the head teacher at Gumyoko Junior High School. He also taught at Gumyoko Montessori school, serving as Montessori Coordinator and lower elementary teacher and assistant head teacher.

Eric is dedicated to community service. He organized spiritual and social programs for troubled youth in his capacity as parish youth council vice-president at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Bawku. While completing his Montessori training in Germany, he worked at the Ezeihungs Padagogical Informations Zentrum as an African resource person providing outreach about African culture to school groups and at the Dergaschlacht Montessori School- Reutlingen as a teacher’s assistant for children with learning difficulties. Over the past 4 years, he has organized logistics and trained teachers in the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) sponsored Corner of Hope Project in Nakuru, Kenya.
